I spent the month of March moving into my new apartment. I'm still in the same building, just on the first floor.
My roommates are Rob and Rachel. A nice couple i met when i moved into the building some two years ago.
they were building a new loft and extended the second floor so i won the new roommie spot.
what sucked is the construction would not be completed in time. I had to move out of my old apartment and essentially turned the new apartment into a storage room while the construction took place. Poor Rob and Rachel had to help me move my furniture and such from my old space to the new place. Then when construction began we had to move everything out of the way so the guys could work. This took 3 days and started a week later than planned, leaving me sleeping on the couch. After the loft was built we started shifting things from R&R old room to their new room and Rachel's new office. It's a cozy apartment so we had to move one room and set it up before we could move on to the other. Need i mention we spent this entire moving process wasted.....i mean we usually got the party started around 10am. No Shame.
after their room was moved we had to move my stuff into the old room. build walls and start painting. we went pretty hard for about 3 weeks straight of working on the apartment everyday. we still have more work to do: painting our rooms, finish painting the common spaces and decorating, culminating with doors and windows for our rooms.
it's a drawn out process but they are great people and i am happy to be be living here and staying in the building.
